-Below
is an example of the double elimination bracket system we will
be using, starting in 2010.
-Say
good-bye to the old "wildcard" system used in 2008 &
2009.
-Before
the race, the drivers names are randomly chosen and placed in the appropriate
position under the 0-0 (no wins - no losses) column.
-The
winner of the heat advances. Second and third place cars receive a loss and
enter the loser's bracket according to their heat #.
-The
trophy round contains the final car from the winner's bracket and
two final cars from the loser's bracket. If one of the
"1-loss" cars wins, a tie-breaker will be raced between
that car and the winner's bracket car....essentially a perfect
double elimination system.
